You have NEVER seen anything this cute!

Mary Claire

Elizabeth (I don't know why it won't rotate...)

And both twins together!  This is pretty much how they were positioned the last few weeks in the womb, only they were upside down.  And don't worry, I watched them like a hawk after I put them in the glider - I figured they'd wake immediately, but they've been sleeping like this for 30 minutes already...

THIS is a father

A man who is willing to hold his underwear-clad toddler while he vacuums so she can "help" because otherwise she's terrified of the machine!

And she's certainly enjoying the ride :)

They're here!

Oh yeah, the twins have been here for almost two weeks...  But it's hard to take pictures & blog with both hands full!

Somehow all our pictures got deleted when my little brother got a hold of our camera at Thanksgiving, so this is all I have!  Looks like I should have backed up all those vacation pictures :(

Anyway, on the left is Elizabeth, and Mary Claire is on the right.  We put them on the couch to take a picture a few days ago and they stayed asleep, so John Paul HAD to very gently place baby blankets over them.

The babies were born early Wednesday morning (3:06 and 3:17 AM) on November 14, weighing in at 5 lbs 8 oz (Elizabeth) and 6 lbs 2 oz (Mary Claire).  Thankfully the delivery was totally uncomplicated & we were able to leave the hospital about 36 hours after the babies were born.

Things are going well so far - obviously very little sleep, but both babies are nursing well and John Paul and Cecilia absolutely ADORE them.

Matchy-matchy

I picked out the kids' Mass outfits this morning NOT intending for them to match so perfectly...  But then it was so cute not to take a picture of it!  I promise they were happy though - these are their "cheese" faces!

Yeah we'll get those poses down one of these days...  Does Cecilia look ENORMOUS to you?  She's really seriously tiny, I don't know why she looks so huge...

Tackle!

Friday, November 2, 2012

I'd say this is their relationship in a nutshell - John Paul will let Cecilia tackle him as long as he can still read whatever he wants...

In other news, I'm at 35 weeks with these twins!  Still no signs of labor, thank goodness - I'm hoping they keep cooking for at least a couple more weeks.  They're both head-down now, so they're jockeying for Twin A & Twin B position - whoever's out first is automatically Twin A, regardless of where they were positioned originally.

So I'm feeling pretty good about the probability of NOT having a C-section.  Pray for us!  Recovering from major surgery with 4 kids under 4 does not sound like fun at all to me...

Another nice thing is that I'm only measuring at about 39 weeks (two weeks ago I was measuring at 41) - somehow the twins have found more space since they changed position.  Weight gain is good for me and the babies, no swelling, passing NSTs with flying colors.  Despite the discomfort, apparently I'm good at being pregnant!  Now we just have to figure out sleeping arrangements...
