The Shirt Doesn't Fit! Or, What I Wore Sunday

Sunday, July 14, 2013

An ill-fitting shirt...  But a bargain, and not worth paying return shipping to send it back!

We could tie it - good enough for a backyard barbecue, too casual for Mass...

Add a sweater...  But there's something missing?
Finish it off with a patterned scarf!  The bold pattern against the subtle gingham of the shirt takes the outfit up a notch!
I don't know what that face is...  Forgive me!
Or belt it for a little more polish - which do you prefer?

I'm not even going to recap our nightmare of a Mass.  Let's just say that Cecilia was so bad that the priest paused in the middle of his homily to remind everyone how happy we are to have children in church, even when they cry...

Now, off to finish up preparations for John Paul's 4th birthday party!  Don't forget, I'll be hosting a Pants-Free July linkup tomorrow if you want to join in!

Linking up with the fashionable ladies at Fine Linen & Purple - Happy Sunday!

  1. Rosie, what a great spin on the WIWS post!

And God bless your priest for saying the right thing in that situation. I have encountered almost all loving and welcoming priests, but I did have one guy stop and totally give me the stink eye as I tried to get my first baby latched on. I was totally traumatized at the time. But I'm over it now. Let's all pray for a priest, shall we?

    1. He's such a sweet priest - unfortunately we have an old man in our parish who is notorious for scaring young families away, so I think the pastor tries to do a lot of damage control. We've generally had no issues from priests, but there was one who glared at us and pointed to the cry room when a 2-year-old John Paul was quietly hissing during his homily... They all definitely need our prayers!

    1. I was so annoyed when I tried it on - I ordered the size according to my measurements and it was HUGE! Thank goodness for the internet helping me get creative :)

    1. Thanks! It's one of my favorite new purchases, although I'm worried it might be too tight...

  7. That skirt and cardi are GREAT fits on you, so flattering (not that you need any help) you should buy one of each in every color :)

  8. I love it with the scarf! That definitely adds a lot. I have such broad shoulders that scarfs sometimes take up my neck and I look like a linebacker. Total bummer because they're such a cute accessory!

  9. That looks so great! And you're right, the scarf totally pulls it together and makes all the colours look so sophisticated.

And...the oversized shirts always come in handy when you're preggo....even though we don't want to think about that...
