4/52: The Newness Hasn't Worn Off!

Wednesday, February 1, 2017

You know how normally a new toy kind of loses its luster after a few days, and the kids aren't quite so ecstatically excited about it?

Well, not so much with new babies.

They still have to be near her all the time. And Peter has decided he needs to hold her a LOT, even though she's 2 months old and is basically old hat! But he's so sweet and trembles with excitement when I carry her over to him, set up on the couch with the boppy. Then after about 30 seconds he's done, of course.

John Paul is very excited to have moved up a level in math! He keeps asking what "grade" I think he's doing, but the whole reason I chose this program was because there aren't "grade levels" - otherwise he'd brag to random kids on the playground about what level of math he's in! Just like the last level, he already knows the material for the first 2/3 of the book (and it looks like it's going to be that way for the next level, too...), but it's new and shiny and we're just going to go through the tests until he stops getting everything right!

We had Andrew's family over for Cecilia's birthday - she pranced around in her sweet new princess dress and I got a kick out of the fact that the next morning she set up Kirsten with a very healthy breakfast right next to her at the table. And she needed her plant there, too.
