Edith is three! It was a tough two weeks between the twins' and Peter's birthdays and hers this year, because she really understood what was going on but also didn't understand how much time really needed to pass... It didn't help that we did cupcakes the day *before* her birthday, since her birthday fell on Thanksgiving this year. But she got exactly the presents she wanted (well, she didn't ask for ANYTHING except a brown-skinned Bitty Baby from Grandpa and Vicki, whom she promptly named Mary and has been carrying everywhere), and this year she didn't scream, "STOOOOP SINGIIIIING" when we sang Happy Birthday to her, so I'll count it as a win!
She is an absolute delight, truly. She gets in her moods and can be pretty obstinate, but by and large she plays well with the other kids & by herself all day long, and is so incredibly creative when she plays with her toys, often anthropomorphizing whatever happens to be at hand. Her little animals play in the dollhouse and are always going to Atrium and then using the potty. These are obviously the highlights of her simple life. (And speaking of potty, she was all the way trained, day and night, before hitting 3! Total win!)
She was... Not exactly in the mood for these survey questions. So you can tell her mood at the time just by reading the answers! But it'll be fun to look back for posterity.

9. What is your favorite animal? I don't know. Well, what's your favorite bird. I don't know WHAT my favorite animal is. You said it was a pink bird with pink wings... A flamingo! And what's your favorite animal? You pointed to it in a book and it was black and white... Panda.
10. What is your favorite song? I. Don't. Know. What song do you like to sing? The Kookaburra Song.
11. What is your favorite book? I. Don't. Know. Is it your bird alphabet book? Yeah.
12. Who is your best friend? I don't know. Who do you like to play with? Eyizabif Yinch.
13. What is your favorite cereal? I don't know. Edith, do you know what cereal is? No. (she actually might not, we never have it...)
14. What is your favorite thing to do outside? I don't know. Ride your scuttlebug? Yes! Actually, go on da teeter-go-round.
15. What is your favorite drink? Milk and water.
16. What is your favorite holiday? Christmas.
17. What do you like to take to bed with you at night? My dolls. Actually Patsy Panda.
18. What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast? I don't know. Bread with peach jam? Yes. Where is da peach jam? I will make you some more.
19. What do you want for dinner on your birthday? Ummm... Ummm.... Breadcrumb pasta. Do you mean pizza? No! Breadcrumb pasta! But you told me you wanted pizza for dinner... Could I make pizza with bacon and olives? Yes. Uggggggh.
