Pants-Free June!

Sunday, May 24, 2020

Nearly 7 years ago I tried giving up pants for a month... And decided to give them up for good! Since then I have hosted a few "pants-free July" challenges for friends and followers to join in, and since the weather is finally warming up and I need to figure out which wardrobe gaps need to be filled in my closet right now, I thought I'd host a Pants-Free June challenge this year!

Art is a long-neglected subject in our homeschool... The artistically-inclined children in the family pull out the art books we have and draw frequently, but trying to get a few of these kids to do any sort of art is like pulling teeth! So I was excited to try Beyond the Stick Figure Art School for their Beyond the Stick Figure Complete Drawing Course PLUS 3 Bonus Courses, since it's geared towards the whole family. We've got a lot of little up-and-coming artists over here!

Fermenting Made Easy: Fermentools Review

Fermentools kit

I've always been curious about fermenting, but overwhelmed by the wealth of information. I knew about the touted health benefits (did you know ONE scoop of fermented sauerkraut has more probiotics than an entire bottle of store-bought probiotics?), but didn't know if we would actually enjoy *eating* fermented foods. So I jumped at the chance to try out this starter kit from Fermentools! It came with instructions on making homemade sauerkraut, which was easy enough that my 10-year-old son can do it entirely on his own. And when it finally came time to taste the finished product? The kids LOVED it! So much so that I'm glad we've planted a lot of extra cabbages this year... They go through sauerkraut quickly!
