Well, that... Didn't happen.

You know, the posting every day this month?

I tried. Oh well. Saturday was our housewarming party and it went really well! Tasty food, great company, perfect fall weather, and no time for blogging. And Sunday apparently the weeks and weeks worth of exhaustion caught up, because I was bed-bound all day long (aside from the hour in the morning I was up with Elizabeth before I went back to bed, and the hour I was up with Peter while I waited for my mom to get home from Mass) with a horrible headache and stomachache. So once again, blogging wasn't so much on the to-do list.

Not that you really mind! And really, I feel like I could just ignore it except... Well, I said I would do it. And I didn't. So there you have it - sometimes life gets in the way and that's that.

I'll just consider this the end of the pressure for writing every day this month, honestly. It's been fun, but tiring - I hate not having the chance to answer comments on the previous post before I publish the next post, and I haven't had a chance to visit other blogs and comment as much as I usually do. Plus all those "substantive" posts I wanted to get written? Well, making the decision to write every day doesn't magically make it possible to write every day, nor does it guarantee I'll have any brain power left by the time I can write.

Maybe those drafts will get dusted off, and those real posts will get finished. And maybe not.

So I'll just give you a picture of the baby grabbing leaves and leave (ha!) it at that. Maybe I'll have something to stay tomorrow, or maybe not!

A Tale of Two Babies {7QT}

There aren't many times when having twins is easier than having one baby. But one really nice thing about Mary Claire and Elizabeth was that they would sit and play together starting from a pretty early age. 

Peter sitting and playing by himself? Not so much.

But a couple months ago he and Margaret (Cristina's little girl) both reached that wondrous stage where they could both sit in each other's immediate vicinity and not fall over! 

Margaret is a month older than Peter, so I think they were almost 8 months and almost 9 months here

And they discovered a wonderful game.

Which Margaret wasn't sure about, but Peter pressed on!

And the sharpness of new teeth...

And really, it was such fun!

Until someone got a little *too* persistent...

At which point poor Margaret's ladylike sensibilities weren't having it anymore!

So the big kids' insistence that "Margaret and Peter go very well together" was finally realized!

I Might Be Crazy {31 Days Writing Challenge}

Some of my blogging friends are participating in a challenge to write a blog post for every day in October. Lately, I've actually been having all the thoughts and all the ideas and WANTING to write more but... Well, the kids go to bed and I collapse into a heap on the couch with my ice cream.

Then I get up and wash dishes and arrange John Paul's homeschooling stuff for the next day.

Then I collapse into a heap again, decide to go to bed, and lie there awake for awhile thinking all the thoughts and *not* falling asleep.

So, in an attempt to clear out my brain, let's try getting all those thoughts down here!

Most people are choosing 1 topic and blogging about it all 31 days. My topic? Well, life. So there's gonna be a little bit of parenting, a little bit of homeschooling, a little bit of homesteading, cooking, faith, fashion, you know... The usual!
