It's November! I've been doing a November Skirt Challenge on Instagram and Twitter but never shared here... So if you're hoping to join in for the second half, the prompts are below! And here are some of my outfits (the ones I've gotten good pictures of... I've not done a great job taking pictures this time!):

Finally, it's over!
I mean, I'm still going to keep wearing skirts and dresses (and once again, I do not think you are a bad person if you wear pants, although apparently there ARE people out there who think women wearing pants is inherently sinful...). But I don't have to document it anymore!!
I have loved seeing the outfits people came up with on Twitter and Instagram - it's been such a fun way to exercise a little creativity, particularly since it can be tough to get "dressed up" when you're not going anywhere. But don't we all feel a little better when we get dressed promptly and are wearing something we love?
I'm not sure I learned much of anything this round of the challenge (except that I don't like following prompts because I would rather just default to the same 5 outfits, apparently)... But I've had a few people request another round in the fall, so we can all get ideas for layering and cold weather outfits. I'm up for that! November Skirt Challenge, anyone?

Week 2 is in the books! Here's what I wore this week (not actually in order, so I'll try to remember the prompt and add outfit details below in case you're interested):

Nearly 7 years ago I tried giving up pants for a month... And decided to give them up for good! Since then I have hosted a few "pants-free July" challenges for friends and followers to join in, and since the weather is finally warming up and I need to figure out which wardrobe gaps need to be filled in my closet right now, I thought I'd host a Pants-Free June challenge this year!

It's Stitch Fix time again! I was waiting until I'd lost some more of the baby weight, but the tricky thing about losing baby weight is that 1. the baby has to let me actually put her down in order for me to exercise and 2. I really should stop eating so much chocolate if I ever want to lose this extra weight... So I did stop buying chocolate (because I'm incapable of pacing myself right now, apparently) but did not start exercising (because the baby still doesn't really allow herself to be put down), and ended up with some credit in my account anyway, so why not try a Fix?
First, here is the outfit I happened to be wearing when my box arrived (none of these are Stitch Fix items):

It's Stitch Fix time! It's warmed up a TON since my last box, and I had some credit waiting for me so I figured I'd give it a try and hopefully find a cute dress to wear to Mass. However, it ended up being CRAZY hot the week that the box came, the air conditioning is (still) broken, the baby is sleep regressing, and I've basically been a frazzled mess. SO I took pictures, but I didn't like, center the camera, crop anything, edit, straighten, or heck, even fix my hair or put on makeup. But you get the idea!

Happy Friday! Somehow it's already May, which means we're winding down our school year! As usual, we're ahead of the game in most of our books *except* one religion book that we have more chapters than weeks left to read... This happens every year!! I think it's because I try to match the readings up with the liturgical year so we aren't reading about Easter during Lent, but then when we end up with a late Easter that really throws things off. So we'll be doubling up in order to get through, and the rest of our books are getting continued next year (we're on year 1 of Mater Amabilis Level 2), so we don't need to rush to finish them up.

Oh you guys. On Monday my Stitch Fix box arrived, on Tuesday I actually had the chance to open it, and every single night I tried to get pictures of the items but this baby is NOT one to cooperate. There were a couple days this week when she nursed, I kid you not, for 16 out of 24 hours.
But then Friday came along and, exhausted and about ready to snap, I swaddled her and she took such an epic nap that I got dishes done, dinner prepped, swept the kitchen, and folded and put away three loads of laundry!!! And I figured I'd press my luck and get one of the kids to take some quick pictures of me with the clothes thrown on... It worked! Miracle of miracles!
But enough about my crazy life. Here's what my stylist sent:

I have to warn you, this post is inspired by alliteration. Because I had a few things I wanted to share and I thought I should up it to ten solely for the purposes of this title!

1. I've been looking for a pretty, not-too-terribly-expensive, embroidered top since *Peter* was a baby. Just found this one and I think it's going to be a winner!

Gaudete Sunday! Woohoo! Everyone wear pink! Christmas is almost here!
Like, really REALLY almost here because next Sunday is Christmas Eve. Yikes.

Happy Sunday! And even though Sunday technically takes precedence, we're still celebrating John Paul's name day. I blew it and forgot about his requested pancakes this morning, but we grabbed Popeye's for lunch (because "Pope Yes!") on the way home and will be having... .something delicious for dinner tonight?

It's aaaalmost officially fall! There's a chill in the air, everybody is pulling out boots and cardigans, and it's time to start thinking about what to wear this season. If you're hoping to branch out beyond your skinny jeans + tunic + riding boots uniform, maybe this will help a bit?

A cozy sweater is probably one of the first things you think of once fall hits - pair it with a soft flannel button-down, denim skirt, and riding boots. Add a skinny belt to take a little of the bulk away! You're ready for a morning coffee date with friends:

Happy September! We've been enjoying a taste of fall weather this week, but I think today we're back to our usual warm September temperatures. I took advantage of the cool weather to get lots of things canned this week, though - 20 quarts of applesauce (many thanks to my mother-in-law for her help!), 8 jars of blackberry jam, and 4 pints of salsa. We've still got quite a few apples left on our tree and a bunch more that we picked from it a few days ago, but I'm pretty pleased with the quantity of sauce we got done for only the cost of jars (I needed new ones since we were almost out) and electricity!

Everybody seems to be going back to school, fall styles are filling my news feed and inbox, and... We've got a good 1.5-2 months more of summer temperatures! Fall in Virginia takes a little while to start, and I'm holding on to summer as long as I possibly can. Since I returned the suuuuper-adorable dress from my last Stitch Fix box, I've been on the hunt for casual, nursing-friendly summer dresses and have found some good options that I had to share here in case you're on the lookout, too!
