My Sunday Best, Vol. 4: Trinity Sunday

Sunday, May 22, 2016

Dear photographer,

You're fired.

I *told* him not to use the flash! And he did anyway! (It's one of my ONLY photography rules - never ever ever use the built-in flash unless you absolutely have to, because do you see how terrible that picture is? Natural light is your friend, flash adds stupid shadows and makes it look like you're using a low-quality camera even if you aren't!).

But look at me, leaving this picture here for you (with me in my slippers, because I forgot to put my regular shoes back on). That's humility, eh?

Of course, even when he turned the flash off, he couldn't hold still long enough for the camera to stay focused. Back to the tripod next week, even if it *is* a pain to get it set up!

Happy Trinity Sunday! Do something Trinity-ish - if I were a fancy blogger I'd have ideas for you, but my default is "bake brownies for feast days" and I have no themed anything in my brain-file of "important things to do for feast days." Lazy liturgical living, at its finest!

I'm at that awkward pregnant stage - almost 14 weeks, belly too large to wear regular skirts low enough for them to be an appropriate length (I *swear* it was longer when we left the house!), but not big enough to be obviously pregnant...

Peter's still nursing, so we managed to stay in the chapel all the way through the homily, and *might* have made it through all of Mass if Mary Claire hadn't had to use the bathroom. Fair enough, I did too... She's a tricky one at Mass, especially since she's learning how to read now (I don't even know. We just breed early readers, apparently.) and wanted me to help her sound out any words that weren't "God" or "Jesus" or "Mary" (or and, the, or, etc.). All in her loudest, clearest voice. And this is why we don't sit in the main church!

Your turn!

Post your outfit details & links or not, regale us all with your children's antics, reflect deeply on the readings, or just do a straight picture post - anything goes as long as you actually wore your outfit to church. The link-up is open until Friday, so you've got plenty of time to add your post!

Just a few ground rules before you link up:

1. Please include a photo of what you wore to church this week.

2. Please link back to this post in the body of your post, so your readers know where to find other posts.

3. Please visit some other posts in the link-up & leave a nice comment - this is all about affirming each other and building community, not just link dropping :)

4. Make sure the link you add is a link to your specific post or instagram picture, not just your blog address.

5. Enjoy, and thanks for linking up!
