Links for Lent!

Ash Wednesday is coming! Super-late this year, I know, but just in case it caught you by surprise, here are a few links from the archives to help you out with your preparations...

First: print this calendar for your kids to color to mark the days! Mine are already decorating theirs QUITE elaborately.

Pregnant? Nursing? Wondering if you should try fasting for Ash Wednesday even though you're exempt? Don't do it. Here's why.

What's your family reading for Lent? I ordered a few saint biographies for the kids (and me!) to break up their steady stream of pleasure reads from the library, and I'll bring out a bunch from this list as well.

Last year I read (and LOVED) Above All, which is probably my all-time favorite devotional to prepare for Lent. But it's a little much for post partum me this year!

I have Hosanna ready to go for this year - it's a study on the Gospel of Matthew, and I think it'll be a good one to go in-depth into just one book of the Bible.

If you're getting your meal plan in order for Lent (what a good penance, if you don't already do a good job with meal planning!), here are a bunch of meatless meals with recipes to inspire you! These black beans are one of my all-time favorites!

Shopping early for Easter baskets? Here are some ideas!
