Well, I think we have our official favorite toy for 2021 (although it's not *technically* a toy but... close enough?). Actually, I ordered this back in November when I knew they were on back order and that we might not receive one until Summer 2021! But fortunately I ordered early enough that we ended up getting ours before the Christmas season was even over, and I'm glad, because it was technically the kids' big family present. I skimped on their regular Birthday/Christmas/Epiphany presents to put that money towards a bigger purchase, and it's been worth it 100%.
These pictures don't show it perfectly, but this is a Nugget, which is kind of like a play couch with movable pieces? I'm not affiliated in any way, but I wholeheartedly recommend this if you have young kids!! We needed extra seating in our living room anyway, but didn't have space for more furniture... So now if there's nowhere for kids to sit, they pull out the Nugget and set it up! Though more often, they stack the pieces on top of each other, jump on it like a trampoline, or set up obstacle courses. It's honestly a ton of fun, and weirdly comfortable for adults, too?
We set up the TV for a family movie night the other evening and put the Nugget in front of the couch like stadium seating - it was absolutely perfect! I think if we still had a basement or a playroom, I'd ditch all the furniture and just get a couple of these, they're so versatile!
Do you have a Nugget? Do you desperately need one now? For the first time in months, nobody's taken any cushions off the furniture to jump on... Because they have a Nugget instead!
Ahhh! David and I were so close to getting one for the kids for Christmas and then decided against it but they look SO fun and actually like a thing kids like to play with. I'm glad to hear from someone I know that they actually *are*!!

DeleteCongratulations! I've wanted one for our kids for eons it seems like. So much creativity!!! I was even this close this summer to getting one...after I entered my cc info it just kept thinking and thinking until it said there weren't any in that color after all. By in those few minutes all the other colors were gone, too. :S
ReplyDeleteBut--maybe it's for the best. I worry we'd have it for 3 seconds before someone poked a pencil into it. At least you can buy a new cover then, I guess. I'm very curious how it holds up to constant love. Be sure to do an update!
So far it's withstood a lot of VERY rough treatment! I will definitely update—they changed the ordering system so now you can order and just wait for the backorders to come in, much less stressful that way!!
DeleteThe Nugget looks like such fun, but I wonder if we are getting to the age where we might use it as much. But we do need more seating since the kids keep getting bigger and taking up more space on the couch. What ages do you think it is best for?
