My Sunday Best, Volume 42: My Legs are Not This Color

Happy Sunday!

We're enjoying yet another unseasonably warm stretch this weekend, which is lovely but leaves me worried about crops, especially fruit trees... Say a prayer for all farmers, would you? The local peach crop took a serious beating last year because of a late frost, and I'd hate for the same to happen this year! It's an inconvenience for us, but a terrible blow to those whose livelihood depends on good production. St. Isidore the farmer , pray for us!

He insisted on the suspenders and bow tie, and switched out the khaki socks I'd chosen for argyle socks. #winning

Yesterday I took John Paul to church for his First Penance walk-through - they just took the kids into the confessional so that they aren't scared stiff when it comes time to make their first confession! It was adorably sweet, and he had his interview with Father as well. We had no idea that was today, and he jumped right in cheerfully and went first! I don't think things will be the same with Cecilia next year...

Affiliate links below - thanks!

Dress: Modcloth (I went with an 8 but the 4 or 6 would have worked better...)
Shoes: DSW, Similar
Stockings: Every pair I found had a run until I got to the "ghastly pale" pair... My legs are pale, but not THAT pale!

After he took a bunch of shots, he was giggling and told me they were all out of focus. Which resulted in these two shots:

Motherhood in a nutshell: Resignation, following by fury. Aspiring for greatness, right here!

So we tried again and... still not in focus. Whatever.

He made up for it by turning to me during the Gospel and saying, "Mom! I'm like the seed planted in rich soil! And so is Edith!!"

Pretty sure that's an endorsement of our parenting, right?

Mary Claire was struggling rather a lot with defiance, and eventually had to be taken out, where she sat quietly in a folding chair until it was time to go back in - why exactly can't she do that in the pew? She was convinced after Mass that she had only been a little bad, but she still didn't get a treat. Life is tough when you're 4, especially when you won't stop making faces at the people behind you and loudly kissing your baby sister.

If you're looking for Easter clothes especially for boys, I just got John Paul and Peter matching bow-ties and caps that are *adorable* and on sale right now (and I generally find their stuff is very good quality)! Their boy dress clothes are here and if you click through ebates you'll get 2.5% cash back. (Actually, I'm pretty sure John Paul's whole outfit, except shoes, is Children's Place.)

Your turn!

Post your outfit details & links or not, regale us all with your children's antics, reflect deeply on the readings, or just do a straight picture post - anything goes as long as you actually wore your outfit to church. The link-up is open until Friday, so you've got plenty of time to add your post!

Just a few ground rules before you link up:

1. Please include a photo of what you wore to church this week.

2. Please link back to this post in the body of your post, so your readers know where to find other posts (posts not mentioning "My Sunday Best" or not linking back to this post will be subject to removal).

3. Please visit some other posts in the link-up & leave a nice comment - this is all about affirming each other and building community, not just link dropping :)

4. Make sure the link you add is a link to your specific post or instagram picture (hashtag #mysundaybest and mention me in your caption, @rosiehill425 so I don't miss it!), not just your blog address.

5. Enjoy, and thanks for linking up!
