Edith's current favorite perch is wherever she can find space on the counter, so she's generally there while I'm prepping meals or washing dishes, although it can be hard to find room amidst all the tomatoes we've got ripening... The other day she found a couple saint statues that need to be mended (where IS that super glue??) and immediately staged a wedding between St. Clare and Pope St. John Paul II. It was... odd. She was a little concerned by his lack of hands, but happily accepted the fact that popes and nuns can't get married.
Cecilia made scrambled eggs for all the kids the other day, and was so pleased by the fact that one of the shells was mostly intact after being cracked that she washed it out, nailed it to a board, and spent much of the rest of the day painting it. I keep meaning to tell her about pysanky, but I know I can't actually provide her with the proper materials and that siblings would break her creations pretty quickly, so it's probably a hobby best saved for when she's older.
My grandmother died last month and we headed to her memorial service over the weekend. My mom was kind enough to bring her favorite chairs back for us, and now we have beautiful reminders of her in our living room! I'm tempted to get slipcovers so the kids don't ruin them, but the print is so gorgeous that I don't want to cover it up... Decisions, decisions!
I'm so glad we aren't the only ones with broken saint statues all over the house! Most are missing their hands but Padre Pio suffered a most cruel beheading.

I have 4 girls 4 and under and our newest one was born right around the same time as Lucy so it's been really fun to follow along. We'll be officially starting homeschooling soon and I'm a wannabe homesteader (I can't grow anything but I have lots of dreams). Thanks for sharing your beautiful family!

This year, my 6 year old made his own egg with just a little help from me. We did it during little kid nap time over a couple days. He had a blast and was so proud that his egg was up on shelf for Easter.
