WIWS & Family Photo Shoot

Ohhhh time change, how I loathe thee...

Remember before kids, when "Fall Back" meant an extra hour of sleep?  Too bad infants and toddlers don't understand that.

So we were all up bright and early - Andrew took John Paul with him to a 7 AM Latin Mass and I took Cecilia to our regular 8:30 AM.  I tried to fall-ify a summer dress but I don't think it worked - this dress just needs to be relegated to the back of the closet until spring!

Dress:  Newport News
Cardigan:  Gap via Twice
Boots & boot socks:  DSW?
Belt:  Kohl's

Of course, it took until the last shot for Cecilia to actually smile!

She was ecstatic when I told her that since it's November she's allowed to start wearing last year's Christmas dress again.  It was HUGE on her last year and she's a peanut anyway, so it fits perfectly now!

And because the babies were looking adorable, here's what they wore:

Look!  They're all looking at the camera!  This is the only shot I got where Elizabeth wasn't chewing on her baby doll's head...

The light was awesome in the playroom so I thought I'd try to get some printable shots of the babies and I think I may actually have gotten a couple!

Mary Claire

Elizabeth

Aaaall she wants to do is be walked around...

All SHE wants to do is walk by herself - and she's ecstatic when she does it!  We're up to 5-10 steps at a time before she decides crawling is faster.
Then Andrew made a giant leaf pile in the back yard and the kids spent a while playing in it (or eating the leaves, as was the case for the babies!).

I thought this was SUCH a Cecilia shot - her mischievous little expression is perfect!

And a quintessential John Paul shot:

And with that, naps seem to be winding down, so I'll link up with Fine Linen & Purple and send you on your way to better outfits!

  1. I think I like the one of Elizabeth walking the best..she looks so pleased with herself...and I love the arms out for balance thing. The ones of Cecilia and John Paul outside are great too!

    1. Her expression is so hilarious every step she take - she's SO proud of her accomplishment!

  2. I think you did a great job of fallifying (that should totally be a word) the dress! Maybe black boots instead of brown would help with a more cohesive look, but unless the material is different in person, I think it would be fine to keep wearing like that. :-)

    1. Right? Winterize is a word, right? So fallify should be too :P

I probably would have worn my black boots instead if they hadn't been dirty! The dress is linen with a slick polyester lining, so it gets chilly easily, plus it's not nursing-friendly so it's probably getting put away anyway :/ One of my few college holdouts!

  3. Love that polka dot dress! And the cardi goes so well with it. The whole outfit is spot-on:)

And wow, I wish or playroom had lighting like that. Amazing shots!

  4. I think the outfit looks very cute and fall-ish! But I agree with the other comment that black boots would pull it together. The kids are all adorable. I can't wait until it's cold enough here to wear some fall and winter clothes! Still 70s and 80s in south Texas!

  5. Those pictures are all great - I especially love the one of John Paul. If I were you, I'd grab a bunch of frames and print a bunch of copies of these shots and call your Christmas shopping (especially for grandparents) finished!

  6. 1. The kids look totally adorable!!
    2. I totally disagree that you didn't pull off what you were intending- to "fall-ify" the outfit. With a color like the deep purple, I would go so far as to say you brought it to Winter even. That would be a perfect Advent outfit.
    3. I want a white dress with black polka dots. Oh how versatile!
    4. I featured a bunch of outfits utilizing a mustard yellow sweater. This dress would look AWESOME with the mustard cardi for fall. You could really pair almost any fun fall hue with that dress and it would be a winner.
    LOVE it!

    1. Oh I can totally wear that sweater for Advent!!! I'm so excited, I mostly don't venture into purple territory but I was trying to diversify my wardrobe and now I can be liturgically appropriate!

  11. Great pictures of the kids!

I think you're actually very fashion-savvy. You put things together way more creatively than I would ever think to do, and it works.

  12. Yeah, Fall Back does not equal more sleep, but it does give us an extra hour during the day for getting stuff done! So I still love it! You all look so cute, as usual :)
