My Sunday Best, Volume 90: Books, Interruptions, and Twin Hugs

Sunday, January 21, 2018

Happy Sunday! My photographer insists this photo is in focus and demands that I start paying him, since "You make money on your blog, so you should pay your photographer!!!"

Ha. If he knew how much "money" a typical Sunday post earns, he might be willing to forgo his demanded commission ;) As it is, I'm tempted to replace him with a tripod.

We had another lovely, baby-free Mass - Mary Claire was so sweet, trying to follow along in her children's missal even though I think it's a little young for her, since it was missing a lot of the parts of the Mass... I helped her follow along with the one she has, as well as the one Cecilia's supposed to be using (but refuses to use...). It's nice to have my hands free to be able to actually instruct the kids in their faith!

It's ridiculously warm again today (and will be tomorrow, too!), so we're enjoying looooots of mud from the partially-thawed ground. On the plus side, it meant that yesterday we had a chance to plant the elephant garlic that I missed in the fall!

I am trying and trying to get this post written but keep getting interrupted by each girl desperately needing braids, bread needing to come out of the oven, everybody needing prunes and cheese sticks, a chicken needing her wings clipped... This is why I rarely blog!

In book-ish news, The Hobbit is on super-sale today for the audiobook version - if you're like me and can't quite manage all those voices, this is worth the price for outsourcing! You don't need an Audible membership to listen.

And if you're looking for a good read right now and want some accountability, we're going to read Animal, Vegetable, Miracle and discuss in this facebook group (you should come hang out in the group anyway, even if you don't want to read the book - lots of good talk about books and food and gardening!). I'm sure your library will have a copy, or there are a MILLION used copies available on Amazon, too! It's a really excellent read that convinced us to work harder towards eating more seasonally, buying local food, and raising/growing what we could manage on our own.

Your turn!

Post your outfit details & links or not, regale us all with your children's antics, reflect deeply on the readings, or just do a straight picture post - anything goes as long as you actually wore your outfit to church. The link-up is open until Friday, so you've got plenty of time to add your post!

Just a few ground rules before you link up:

1. Please include a photo of what you wore to church this week.

2. Please link back to this post in the body of your post, so your readers know where to find other posts (posts not mentioning "My Sunday Best" or not linking back to this post will be subject to removal).

3. Please visit some other posts in the link-up & leave a nice comment - this is all about affirming each other and building community, not just link dropping :)

4. Make sure the link you add is a link to your specific post or instagram picture (hashtag #mysundaybest and mention me in your caption, @rosiehill425 so I don't miss it!), not just your blog address.

5. Enjoy, and thanks for linking up!
