Yup, they're cute!
Edith was still napping when we left, so I never managed to get into my room to put on any makeup, and then I decided that was fine because hey, it's okay for the kids to see that sometimes I leave the house without putting on makeup and it's not the end of the world!
What was the end of the world was when I reprimanded a child for snorting and sniffling loudly all through Mass, tried to send said child to the bathroom to deal with the issue, and then had to deal with a crying child in the pew for most of the remainder of Mass. All things considered, really not that bad compared to many, many worse experiences we've had!
Elizabeth decided that this week she wanted to pay perfect attention to everything going on at Mass, and it was lovely. Just the sweetest! If you attend the Extraordinary Form, this book is SUCH a gem and I wish we had had it years ago when we started exploring this side of the faith. I'm learning SO MUCH. The kids too, obviously, but they pick up on all of this way faster than I do.
After Mass we brought some friends home for a low-key birthday party for Cecilia - popcorn, hot chocolate, Mardi Gras beads, masks, and king cake! I'm so thankful nobody has high expectations for birthday parties around here...
