Cecilia: Pink!
...
Talking about Elizabeth
Cecilia: Oh, she wook so pitty in her shirt!
...
I walk in on Cecilia in the crib with a crying Elizabeth
Me: Cecilia, why is she crying?
Cecilia: Um becuz I WUV her!
...
John Paul, unprompted: It's the first Sunday of Easter! Yay! And then 6 more Sundays and then Pentecost, then Trinity Sunday and ORDINARY time! It's Easter, Alleluia! Christos Anesti! Alithos Anesti!
...
John Paul (who has been obsessed with learning French lately): Poubelle! Poubelle! *In a French accent* Trash Canne means garbage pail!!!
...
Me: Cecilia, I like the lines you made with chalk.
Cecilia: No, PINK!
Me: Okay, I like the pink that you drew...
Cecilia: NO, I WIKE PINK!!!
How dare I.
...
John Paul, lying in bed NOT sleeping an hour after he was put down: Mary Claire! Stop. Puking!
...
John Paul, in the car amidst crying babies: Cool your jets, Ewizabeth and Mary Claire!
...
Me: Cecilia, why are you giving Elizabeth the recorder? She doesn't want it, she can't play it...
Cecilia: No, she WIKE it! She's HOLDIN' it!
Apparently she was right... I snapped this right after Elizabeth dropped it.

Rosie, what are you using to teach French? I dabbled with learning French last summer and fell in love. I would love to pick it back up AND teach my son.
ReplyDeleteI need to find something to teach him with - right now we just have an old vocabulary picture book and some prayer books in French, but he's BEGGING me for more all the time, so I need to find some good basic books with translations so he can teach himself. It's awesome because it helps me brush up on my French! I'll let you know if I find something good that works :)
DeleteI tried SO HARD to make my girls love pink. They do not like pink. Cecilia needs to teach them the ways of the pink. And John Paul needs to teach them French.
ReplyDeleteAnd it looks like they got a sandbox or something! There's another blog post and at least ten more funny things that the kids say or do over the next month or so. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love reading what kids say, thank God for all the laughs!
ReplyDeleteHilarious, we have lots of tears over wuvving at our house, too!
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to learn gentle wuvving!
DeleteIf only we could figure out how to wuv without producing screams of pain and anguish! I love Cecilia's sunglasses and John Paul's rundown of the liturgical calendar. Hilarious.
ReplyDeleteI know, we're working on the gentle wuv - still freaks me out sometimes, but the twins are getting more patient and the big kids are getting gentler :)
