Day 15 - have you every tried that scarf as vest trick? Not sure how I feel about it... |
6 skirts, 3 dresses, 2 sweaters, 14 shirts, 2 scarves, 3 pairs of shoes = 15 outfits. Not counting undergarments, that's 30 items of clothing total. And you're going to be seeing a lot of repeats from here on out, I'm not sure how many more combinations I have! I think 2, 5, and 8 are my favorite days so far.
So far I think my biggest revelation is that I can style a pencil skirt essentially the same way I style cropped pants or skinny jeans, which is HUGE for me because those are normally my summer staples.
Feel free to use the prompts in bold to help you organize your thoughts!
Most comfortable? Definitely the full skirts/maxi dresses (ESPECIALLY the maxi dresses).
Most practical? Anything patterned, since it hides all the spit-up/mud/crumbs/peanut butter I accumulate from sticky fingers and babies all day long.
Least practical? It's pretty difficult to do anything in the muddy yard while wearing a maxi dress or skirt, so I've been knotting them before going outside to prevent them from trailing in the mud. Fashion don't? Perhaps...
Most fun? Those full skirts just make me feel so pretty! And I love how they billow out when I go down stairs, although it's a little strange when I go to pick up a baby and my skirt comes with them!
Not sure about... That pink pencil skirt - the color is really fun, but I think it might be too tight? Maybe I should have sized up. We'll see if it sticks around or if I decide to replace it.
Am I missing my pants? A bit. Mostly because my outfits have revolved around pants in the past, so I'm used to knowing what combinations work with them. Now I'm having to think a little bit harder about how to match my clothes while only working with skirts and dresses. It's actually really fun to force myself out of my usual bubble!
And as a bonus every single one of these outfits is nursing-friendly! And even tandem nursing- friendly, although a few need minimal adjustments (untuck the shirt on day 4, slip a strap down on day 5 because the dress doesn't have a stretchy neckline).
What do you think? See anything that inspires you to try something new? Let me know!
Share your post below, or just leave a comment and let me know how it's going! Outfit failures are perfectly welcome - my Day 10 is preeeetty reminiscent of the Beverly Hillbillies, after all!
I have been wanting to do a no-pants challenge for a while now, but since having a baby most of my skirts don't fit and I have to strategically replace them! I'm impressed by how well you are dressed during the day! On my days home I often get dressed, but I don't think changing from PJs into leggings and a t-shirt really counts.
ReplyDeleteI like outfits 3, 6 & 13. I will try to get it together and take some pics for the link up. I hate self portraits (& this will be my 1st link up ever in 3 yrs of blogging) :) but this one is worth it! :)
ReplyDeleteDay 6 is one of my faves, and the belted option on day 14. I love how you've mixed and matched so many of the pieces!
ReplyDeleteI like #13 and my favorite picture is #7...John Paul is pants free too! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the skirt on 3! Where did you get it?
ReplyDeleteOld Navy! Super-affordable since they go on sale like, every week!
