We are officially more than halfway through Lent, and while the first thing that *should* be on your mind is probably, "When am I getting to confession?" you're probably also thinking about Easter baskets. Well, you are if you're anything like me!
Growing up we got plastic grass and a whole lot of candy. I don't know why we got so much candy, except that we really loved it and I think it might not have turned us all insane?
I have one child in particular who turns insane with excessive amounts of candy. So needless to say, we try to limit it! And I have a lot of fun thinking of non-candy basket fillers, too - need some ideas?
Some links below are affiliate links, which means I get a small percentage of a sale through the link.
First, there are tons of ideas for kids and grown-ups in this post - all faith-based items, too!
Then there's the obvious ideas - stickers (especially sticker books!), tattoos, play dough, crayons...
Schleich animals are one of our current favorite toys, and such awesome quality that I know they'll last forever. The younger 4 kids play with them all day, and I'm thinking of adding some of the farm animals to our collection.
These egg shakers are one of our all-time favorite toys, and they look just like colorful Easter eggs!
This year I decided to get each of the kids a book about one of their favorite saints - Mary Claire is getting this awesome St. Joan of Arc book, Elizabeth is getting one about St. Elizabeth of Hungary, Cecilia is getting this one about St. Cecilia, John Paul is crazy-excited for his Adventure Catechism, and Peter is getting a book about St. Brendan, because we had been reading about the Vikings when I ordered the books.
How about something from Ashley's shop, The Big White Farmhouse? Her seed bombs would be perfect for beginning gardeners, and these bunny rattles are adorable! She can guarantee delivery by Easter if you order by Tuesday, March 22 and if you use the code EASTER15 you can get 15% off your order.
I love all of Lindsey's products, but have you seen that she's got some sets of her saint blocks on sale? Perfect to divide among many Easter baskets!
How adorable are these saint dolls? They'd make an awesome baptism present from godparents, too.
Holy Heroes CDs & coloring books are awesome, and they've got some excellent other products - I know John Paul would adore this picture bible, everybody would be excited to make our own Paschal Candle, and this Lego Mass Kit is incredible.
Shining Light Dolls are a big hit at our house, especially with the 3-and-under set.
Lilla Rose clips are my absolute favorite accessory - the bobby pins actually stay put, and I use the clips all the time. They work great in the girls' hair too (and, ahem, I can get them for the girls and then share with them!), and Mandi is giving away one product up to $20 in her shop! Hop on over and check out all the gorgeous items, and enter the giveaway below!
