{pretty}

Trying out some B&W photography (well, black and white editing!) for Cari's challenge :

Cecilia, contemplating the bean plants' astonishing growth - nothing I love more than a chubby toddler profile!

I had NO idea our hostas were going to flower!  Such a weird-looking stalk of flowers, kind of alien-like...

Heavily-edited in B&W

We have a scraggly tiny rose bush that has been giving us sporadic blooms that I thought were perfect for this challenge!

{happy}

 I made a joke about a poopy diaper.  It was well-received.

{funny}

"I'm a bawwewina cow!"

Obviously.

{real}

John Paul hurt his foot and wanted to be carried everywhere, so I put him on the couch with a bunch of books.  He chose to play with his clock...

He has been paying SPECIAL attention to the time because he wants us to have a very rigid schedule and stick to it...  So if I serve breakfast before 8 o'clock, he won't eat until then.  He reminds me when it's 10 o'clock and time for a snack.  And 11:30 and time for lunch.  Little weirdo...

  1. LOVE that top picture of Cecilia! It looks like something you'd see in a magazine.

    1. Thanks! I was surprised she held still long enough for me to get the profile shot in focus :)

  2. Better just lock Cecilia up now, that girl is too pretty :) And JP as your personal assistant? "Excuse me, mom, we have to interrupt this craft time for a special message from our snack sponsors." Too funny, that kid is.

    1. Right? He's been asking me to plan out every hour of every day, including sleeping hours. I have to decide whether he will be sleeping or dreaming at 3 AM, 4 AM, 5 AM, etc...

  3. Aw- such a cute family! Loved your header and family picture! And I don't know how old John Paul is- but while the whole time thing could get irritating- it is also REALLY cool that he is so aware of such abstract things at such a young age. Smarty pants.

    Visiting from P,H,F,R~ have a great day!

    1. I can only attribute it to a book we got at the library about telling time - now he's obsessed! Luckily it's not annoying *yet* :)

  5. That first picture looks like two little girls I used to know. Maybe they are related! You can ask her. :-)

    So you're growing Cecilia's bangs out? Looking good!

    1. He definitely helps me! I would honestly never feed them except when they got annoying if he didn't remind me :P Is it weird that I use food to get them to shut up? I might be a bad mom...

  14. Just wait until your hosta's bloom! They are so pretty. I always forget about profile pictures. If I take them then it was an accident but I'll try to keep it in mind now.

    1. Hah, the only reason I got it was because somehow she actually held still for long enough for me to get it in focus! If I try for something with the kids, usually they don't hold still long enough for it to work :P

  16. I wonder if my kids would like to keep track of the time for me - that might help my first-grader learn time better. I sometimes let them give me driving directions (it always involves detours) and that helps them learn left/right.

    I love your BW photos - need to try that with my camera.

    1. Is it weird that I'm already lamenting the loss of her baby fat? She's finally starting to slim down, but that little double chin is still there :)

  18. I could use a John Paul to come boss my kids around. Especially at dinner time! That's where we lose track and the rest of the day falls apart!

    1. I can just imagine him following them around with his little yellow clock, "It's dinner time! It's 6 o'clock! Time for dinner! Everybody go inside!"
